Will Carbide Create/Motion Run A GRBL?

Post by mrcabinet » Sat Sep 11, 2021 4:38 pm

A friend recently gave me a bnib Chinese 3018 grbl cnc machine. I know absolutely nothing about grbl so, in the interest of simplicity, I am wondering if the g-code generated in Carbide Create will run it. Anyone have any experience with this?

I am running another brand of grbl-controlled CNC router. Many in our forum are using Carbide Create as their CAD/CAM software. You will need to decide on a code sender from the many that are out there.

So are you saying I can generate the g-code in Carbide Create, then use a universal g-code sender to send it to the grbl machine?

Sweet! I appreciate the definitive answer. I use so many different software for different machines that it would be nice to not have to throw another one into the mix.
