I'm using Autodesk Inventor because I get a free student license through the high school FIRST robotics team I mentor.

I need to investigate the open source offerings.

Sorry, I messed up my vote and I don't think I can change it. I voted SketchUp, but should have been SketchUp and OpenSCAD (and also ImplicitCAD).

I'd messed up and failed to check the box for changing your vote --- fixed. Checking the other polls now.

Yeah, I thought about including ImplicitCAD --- great that you're having success w/ it --- I failed miserably when I tried to install it. May have to re-visit that if I don't have more luck w/ the CAM process out of OpenSCAD.

I've been using Vectorworks for years, so... go with what you know. I've also been experimenting with Rhino but usually get frustrated and go back to V'works. BTW I believe you can still get a free copy of Rhino for Mac while they are in the development process. It doesn't have 100% functionality yet but most of the modeling tools work. My local FabLab has Solidworks and I found that pretty intuitive but haven't done much with it.

I use either Sketchup or Blender. Typically Sketchup if I'm working with flat surfaces, or Blender if I'm working with more curved, organic shapes. I'd like to use just one tool, but both tools have significant weaknesses when it comes to certain types of work.

I also really liked my first impressions of Inventor Fusion and would like to try it more.

I use Sketch Up, OpenSCAD and AutoCAD 123D Design.

So after trying almost all free cad software I could find I have finaly resolved to using FreeCad, all other softwares hade their limitations when trying them out.
Either they where to advanced to learn in a evening or they where missing fundemental things like boolean operations that I love to use.

FreeCad have it quirks and it is quite advanced for a beginner like me but I seem to like it the most and I was actualy able to create a namesign for my door in less that 2 hours after installing it, I have only done som simple modeling in it and I have NOT tried to actualy cut the objects that I have created yet, but I am looking forward to try.

I am willing to pay for software but I can not afford to put 500USD in software so if a free modeler works for me I rather put the money in a better CAM software like cambam or others.
