GCodeTeleporter.com - Another Free Windows GCode Sender

Post by philc » Mon Sep 22, 2014 7:26 am

I had bad luck with existing GCode senders or wanted them to do more than what they could do. For this reason I wrote my own and I'm making it available to download for free if anyone is interested. This is alpha software so if you find bugs it would be great if you let me know. Thanks.

New Update:
v.02 (9/29/2014)Download: http://www.gcodeteleporter.com/download.php
- Improved GCode processing
- Removed hard coded path for saving truncated code. When you choose to truncate your GCode file it will save the truncated GCode to file with the same location as the original file.

Could you elaborate on what advantages this sender has over the other options out there or what "more" you included in the program?

My goal was to accomplish as much of the cutting aspect of my workflow in one program. I wanted to edit gcode, visualize/simulate, monitor CNC and send gcode from one program. I started writing this at a time when UGS had some annoying bugs so that was further motivation to create something more reliable and worked in a manner I preferred.

Offtopic: Noticed you were a photographer. I liked your photos. I also like to shoot the night sky. I finally go my first milky way shot this summer.

Nice.

What languuge did you use to program this. By the way I noticed that the truncated.nc is hard coded on your user path. :D.

Thanks .

That's what I though cause it requirest .net framework 4 or maybe c++. :).

Any plan to open source it later. I noticed your truncate program is already on github.

By the way I also use c# on my work and some other languages. Although I'm new to CNC. I'm just getting back to my interest to hardware after building some multirotors.

One suggestion similar to sketchup when on rotate mode, when mouse down and pressing shift key on keyboard it activates panning mode and releasing it goes back to rotate mode.

Yes, releasing it as open source is certainly on my mind. I appreciate the feedback so I may continue to make improvements.

I started using the GCode Teleporter and I like it. I was using GRBLController before but it was fairly unresponsive on my old PC I use to control my CNC machine.

Thanks
Frederic
