I have spent a few hours physically assembling my Shapeoko 3 and just hope to run a "hello world" but I cannot even open the Carbide Motion app. I get a "carbidemotion has stopped working" as soon as I start the app. Windows 7 on a Lenovo laptop.
Thanks in Advance!

Re: unable to open CarbideMotion
Have you tried the latest beta version?
Or, try bCNC or Universal G code Sender.

Re: unable to open CarbideMotion
tried Beta, 2.0, and even previous 1.0.....
I was able to use an iMAC but it is not what I had hoped to use permanently.
I will look at the other options you provided, Thanks!!

Re: unable to open CarbideMotion
Try this version of Carbide Motion - http://carbide3d.com/files/beta/CarbideMotion-Setup.exe
The problem you are experiences more than likely stems from the OpenGL hardware requirement. The version linked to above falls back to software rendering instead of GPU.
Regarding the other packages that Will suggested - while those may work and they are good programs - we really want everyone to use Carbide Motion. As we move forward with more integration between the machines and the software, Carbide Motion will play a more integral part in the workflow. So getting it to run on everyone's machine is high on our list. It helps us quite a bit to know what it's not working on, so we can figure out ways to make it more broadly compatible.

Is CarbideMotion available for a Shapeoko 2?
