Hi,

Ive just completed a video explaining trochoidal milling with Estlcam:

Trochoidal milling improves performance for aluminum, steel, cast iron and other difficult materials.
It even allows to cut stainless steel with quite good results.

I hope it is Ok to post this here - if you have any questions just ask me.

Very, very cool.

This is also called HSM, right?

Would you care to share a road map of the features which you plan to implement?

That looks great! Can Estlcam work on Linux, or is it Windows only software?

Windows only, but there’s been a report of getting it to run on Linux on the Inventables forum.

I have seen almost all the software and the only thing I liked is Estlcam , for that reason I have driven forum Shapeoko 3.
Thank you Christian , I know I am successful in my search !.
Look at my previous post !.

To be honest I'm quite confused about the terminology myself.
As far as I understand it HSM (high speed machining) is more or less an "umbrella term" for several methods with trochoidal milling just being one amongst others.
Also trochoidal milling itself is a rather loose term - there are quite distinctive implementations with different levels of sophistication.

Estlcam is more or less a pastime for me with no definite goal - suggestions are always welcome.
At the moment I'm adding translation support so users can translate it to their language.

Windows only unfortunately. Some people managed to get it running under Linux - but all report it cost them hours to days and many failed completely.
There is unfortunately no easy step by step guide and I personally have basically no Linux experience myself.
