Bit not touching material Z?

Post by dkrajews » Fri Apr 20, 2018 2:07 pm

I have imported a new .svg file into Carbide Create. I zero out the machine and send the G Code over. The Shapeoko starts to go to the right position on the material but hoovers about 1/4 inch above the material. If I create a simple circle or object, then the Shapeoko atcually cuts the material.

Is this a problem with the .svg image or am I missing something. I can create anything from scratch and it works. I only have this problem with imported .svg files.

Any help would greatly appreciated!

Check and see where you have the Z origin (Stock Thickness | drop-down menu --- either Top or Bottom) and make sure that matches how you're zeroing in CM.

Yes, the stock matches. Like a mention. If I deleted the svg and put a circle on the same workspace. It cuts fine. Using a 102 Bit. XXL

Please send in the files and a step-by-step description of how to trigger this bug to support@carbide3d.com and we'll try to look into it.
