Work with ShapeOko plans on Linux?

Post by T4b » Thu Nov 01, 2012 4:38 pm

So I wanted to look at the CAD plans of ShapeOko which are on github (and then probably modify them).
I first tried opening it in FreeCAD, but it doesn't support that format.
Then I tried with a virtual Windows machine with AutoDesk Inventor, but that doesn't work (would need to install it on the actual PC, but I don't want to. I know I could dual boot Windows easily but that's a hassle, having to reboot all the time to switch between operating systems).

So could anyone convert those files to a format which can be opened with FreeCAD, preferably? Or if not with FreeCAD then with some other (preferably) free CAD software which runs on Linux?
