Just moved off of using inkscape & Carbide Create in favor of freeCAD. Loving it, much more efficient for me, but I'm not sure what the best work flow is now.
It seems shapeoko users are exporting their CAD designs for use in a different CAM tool (e.g. heekscam) to get the final gcode however. Is there a reason for this since freeCAD can do CAM (path workbench) now?

The Path Workbench is a fairly recent development in FreeCAD --- I'm pretty sure most folks who were exporting DXFs from it before wouldn't've if it'd been available.
