expanding

I have been collecting parts to expand my shapeoko and came up with this design. It's not the best drawing but you can see where im going with it. I want to secure the two plates on each side of the Y axis to each other then box the router in with makerslide for extra strength. Let me know what you think.

I've never had the chance to mess around with any Makerslide other than my stock lengths so i don't know how flexible it gets in longer lengths.

However the design you sketched out looks good to me. I think I would probably add a couple more cross braces closer to the end plates (making a total of 4 braces between the two X rails) also, those bits don't necessarily need to be Makerslide, then can just be standard extrusion.

What upgrades are you currently running?

Also It looks like you're trying to run a double Z axis?

Someone might want to move this thread into 'Design Ideas'
