More stuff ordered...

Post by kerrycorcoran » Mon Jul 29, 2013 9:48 pm

Ordered some upgrade parts today; Dual Drive and Extended my Y Axis. Good thing about being so close the Chicago is I'll most likely receive the package on Thursday.

I completed the build this past weekend and showed the wife. She thought it was cute". I explained to her what this type of tool is capable of and now I have a longer "Honey Do List" than I had before. :D

I need to learn to keep my mouth shut.

Still getting comfortable with the workflow process and actual use. Thus far i have only done pen/paper testing. Still not 100% confident I know enough to push her through some real testing.

Looking forward, I have a some HEAVY electronics (big motors) and hope to utilize my Shapeoko to cut parts for it's build.

Nothing too exciting, but the good thing is the new items on the list will be simple stuff I can mill in the ShapeOko.

Ah. I was hoping it was something that might appeal to my wife and get her excited about a shapeoko.

My wife is very excited about it. I'm lucky. :)

Heh. Luckily my wife agrees that my tinkering usually benefits her; generally the WAF (wife acceptance factor) is around 75%.

Chuckle. Cute? Too funny.

My big problem, as noted in another thread is the hit to the DHQ (Domestic Harmony Quotient) caused by the noise of running the machine, and a couple of intricate jobs I was doing which were many, many hours in total.

Will probably have to move a sound enclosure up the priority stack.
