I realized after I posted those, it might have seemed a little boastful. That wasn't the intention.

The intention was 2 fold:

1.) It's us being recognized! As in, 'The Shapeoko Community'. The machine isn't all that interesting, what is interesting is the demand for such a machine. We've basically gone from 1 user, to 100s of users in just a few months. That's cool. Maybe another way of putting it: If it were just 'my' machine, running little jobs in my garage, nobody would care about it :-) After all, lots of people have their own DIY CNC. So, every time I see something 'in the news' I immediately think that the article is about the project, which means the community, and not about an individual achievement.

2.) This project literally started in my basement. In a very tiny town in Illinois. There are more people who follow the project on twitter than there were in my entire high school (by a wide margin)! There are more people on the forum than in my graduating class! So, every time I see something in the news about the project (especially someplace huge like Forbes or Wired!) I can't help but think that *anyone* can start something anywhere, and it's level of success isn't necessarily reflective of the projects physical location. i.e. You don't have to be in Chicago, or Brooklyn, or Seattle, or San Francisco. You can be anywhere you are and the project can develop just the same.

OK, off my soapbox now.

So, if anyone else finds an article about the project here or there, post it to this thread.

If my post was out of line, I apologize. I was excited to see "our" device getting such good press.

Ha! No, no. That's not what I was saying. When I got the notification there was a reply, I re-read my original post and wanted to elaborate!
