Hello,

They do work pretty well.
See my post about my machine : http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1608

Make sure you have some hard coated aluminium extrusion. They get worned out by the metal wheels...

While it's true that the rail wears out, it still works reasonably well even when quite worn, and the loss of precision is acceptable (unless milling PCBs and other tiny stuff). You can simply treat the rail as consumable and replace it when it becomes too worn. That's what Edward does. :)

I don't mind replacing the maker slide if they get worn out.

But does the metal V wheel make that much of a different in x , y , z ?
16 metal v wheel cost almost 70US. Big investment haha

Yes. The metal v wheels make a big difference.
You really only need them on the X and Z axis.
The y axis really only takes a radial load on the v wheels, so the delrin wheels are fine.

Back to the other part of op's question: Do you think that those line pulley bearings could be used to directly replace the delrin v-wheels?

No, they won't work very well, because the angle of their groove is not 90 degrees. You'll get an awkward contact between them and MakerSlide, won't be as rigid, and they'll destroy the rail even if hardcoated. Plus, unless they have two bearings or a dual-row bearing, so you'll get quite a lot of play.

The OpenBuilds metal V-wheels, however, are a direct replacement for the Delrin V-wheels -- you can even use the same shim and bearings.
