@animal Yes, heavily modified machines are welcome! The idea for the page is too show off the variety of assembled machines.

Not sure mine qualifies as I did not even technically start with the standard machine!** But feel free to use pictures from my build log if you like.

I'm brand new, just finished setting up and running the hello world code, but here is my stock Shapeoko 2 #4043, with upgraded inventables spoilboard.
Looking forward to getting started!

Ill post some of mine soon. Almost finished with the tool plate I made for it. 3/8 6061t6 plate with m6 threaded holes to replace the stock mdf board. Gives the machine some weight and more accurate fixturing.

I think the only parts left that are still stock are the bolts and the electronics, which I will be switching out for nema 23's/a china controller/ and 15mm wide gt2 belting any day now. It looks a little naked without its dust skirt velcroed on, but it usually wears it...

You all sit on a throne of lies! There is no finished machine. It's never done. There's always one more tweak, one more upgrade, a new spindle to try, another axis, a new board. Three dimensional space and we need twenty five motors to eventually get to one point in it. I feel like Charlie Brown when Lucy pulls the football away again and again.

Here's my "finished" machine in place. Since I've "finished" it, I changed the spindle to a Foredom SR and made a custom spindle mount out of some HDPE I had laying around. I've added limit switches. I've started building an enclosure / control surface with 4 pin connectors and I've done away with the big keyboard.
