This works too well! I can run for hours... The Shop Vac. is clean (can/filter). I Copied your design with a few mod's. Nice post! Thanks!

ps: funnel cut size can be adjusted, start with a small hole +- and adjust accordingly.... ?

Nice! Out of curiosity what modifications did you make?

As far as the funnel cut design, I had to make a balance between clearance height and the surface area of the funnel for blocking dust. The lower the funnel drops into the bucket, the less clearance you have for material to fill the basin. I really just ball parked it as a rough trial and had zero problems.

This is basically what I had, but I was filling it up half way through a job and the filter in the bottom would plug up really bad right away when milling wood.

It's not exactly home made- just re-purposed a bit. :D

Probably has been ok for me as I'm only running small jobs so far.

danimal,
My Mod's:
- funnel mounted closer to lid.
- smaller hole in funnel (2"dia. approx.)
- flexible metal straps to mount funnel.
- 1 1/2" elbow
- hot glue vs. gaskets....
