supplemental fire extinguishing

I have a 3D printer and a fire extinguisher handy.
But alas, every once in awhile, I have to go to the bathroom.
Now that is out of the way...

I've read a lot recently about fire+CNC and wanted to be a bit more prepared.
Where I'm at chemical fire extinguishers are inexpensive, but Co2 is not.
I'm wondering if anyone has used or thought of using Co2 bottles from the paintball trade for supplemental automated fire prevention?
Maybe an Arduino with some sensors, a solenoid holding back the Co2 along with a Co2 alarm, maybe an alarm that goes off when power isn't given to it by the arduino as a failsafe, that sort of thing.
