Re: How to prepare for Shapeoko 3 - New to CNC
What would be the typical computer specs needed to run the programs of Shapeoko3?
As I am also preparing to assemble my newly arrived Shapeoko3, I noticed some
problems after just examining how the parts are to be assembled.
1. I received one short belt which is endless and 2 long belts which are cut off. Are they supposed to be cut?
2. Item #26 on the x axis are tapped for 4 mm and there is no 4 mm screws on the parts. Can retap it myself.
3. My other concern is the pulley on the Z axis which is installed with a screw and a bolt on the other side of the
plate. Looks like there is a possibility that the bolt will unlock when the pulley starts turning.
4. Without checking I just installed the motors and is now wondering if Y motors are different for
X and Z motors.
5. ON pulley installation would it be correct if I just push it in flush with the end of the shaft
or does it need to go in further?
These are my concerns as I assemble my Shapeoko 3. Your expert comments will be highly valued.
Thanks, one and all! These are exciting times.

1. Correct. Endless is for Z, there should be enough additional belting for X (1 x 800mm) and Y (2 x 800mm) see http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Shapeoko_3#Belts
2. Part number?
3. Mine hasn’t. This would be a good place to use the lock Tite
4. Yes, X and Z have one length leads, Y has the other: http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Shapeoko_3#S3103
5. Yes, save that the X-axis is reversed. http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/ ... lConstruct
Did you see the latest version of the assembly instructions? Current version is published from the main shapeoko.com page.

That pulley does not turn. It is used as a belt grip, not as a proper pulley.Got2tinxxer wrote:3. My other concern is the pulley on the Z axis which is installed with a screw and a bolt on the other side of the

7-zip.org and 7zipguides. Aren't they the same?
