I really want to build a 48" long machine (cutting area), and I was hoping to do it by extending a Shapeoko 3.

Any word on if they're going to offer the new extrusion à la carte so we can extend the Y-axis, at least?

With all this talk of XL, XXL & wishes of XXXL, I'm feeling left out without a tall version.

Ballpark guesstimate the spoilboard surface on the XL will likely be around 42" X 24".

Using tiling this would be large enough for most of my requirements.

I would like to see a tall version offered in the future and a Z axis which would handle a spindle or router that can take an1/2" shank bit or endmill.

All I really want for Christmas is two longer rails. I don't need any other parts to expand my machine...

Hope they offer some a la carte options.
