Cutting larger than your cut area

Hello,
Has anyone cut larger pieces than the waste board on there Shapeoko 3.?

I cut a piece larger than the working area when making my HDPE Wasteboard: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6045

Completed a 32x34 carved sign, used tiling feature in VCarve desktop and glued two 16" boards together after the carving.

Takes some thought, but can be done.
