CNC Cookbook Survey

The folks over at the CNC Cookbook site (providers of G-Wizard and tons of free information on their site - really, go check it out) are running a survey to see what CNC machines hobbiests are using.

Go make sure that the Shapeoko users are well represented! Click here for survey.

BTW the sale they are running on G-Wizard (and other software) ends on Friday April 8th, 2016. G-Wizard Lite is only $68 until then.

Note: I am not affiliated with CNC Cookbook.

Never got cnc cookbook to work for me, but I filled out the form. Hopefully our small and weak machines will be better supported some day :)

I took the survey yesterday. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised that Grbl had a user-base bigger than LinuxCNC. I suppose I should keep at it. :)

Grbl is far more approachable, and fits in far better w/ the Unix philosophy.

I took the survey as well, but earlier, when there wasn't as much data --- did send in some project links, we'll see what comes of it.

Grbl is awesome and I don't think people appreciate all the work you have put into it. By all means please continue and I wish to offer a hearty "Thank You" for all the work you have done. As someone who started using Grbl with version 0.6(?) I think the improvements you have made are amazing.

(Heh, hijacked my own thread.)

Well, I guess I have to do the survey now just to help represent the LinuxCNC user base.

Although my X-Oko is soon going to be running GRBL, so that will be fun to compare the two.

Would be interested in your thoughts on the comparison. When I was building my CNC I was not impressed with the options and features for the G-code senders for GRBL in comparison to LinuxCNC (not even sure there was one for linux which is the OS I use.) GRBL was also fairly new and I was uncertain of its future and so I chose LinuxCNC. But now it seems like the G-code senders have caught up and maybe supased LinuxCNC as several have auto leveling built in! Don't get me wrong I still like LinuxCNC but it would be a different decision now then several years ago

Congratulations to Edward Ford and Carbide 3D!

Also to Sonny and Grbl!

Very, very strong placement: http://blog.cnccookbook.com/2016/04/07/ ... re-making/

I’ve seen serials in the high 1000s — that won’t include the Sparkfun units though.
