Controller

My son was looking into one of these to work with a VR headset, but my first thought was: "That might be really convenient for controlling the CNC"

Looks interesting and it certainly is cheap enough. If you decide to try it, let us know how you come out.

How do you plan on going about hacking it? Looks like you are going to need a uC to take the signal in and convert it to some G code. Unless you just liked the ergonomics of this, I would personally start from scratch so you don't end up dealing with all the peculiarities and reliability issues that I feel fairly sure that remote will have.

Do keep us posted.

This sort of thing works well enough --- using a Wii Remote as a pendant is mentioned on the wiki and here: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2543
