RotoZip SCS 01 Mounting Brackets

Post by xtonyx » Sat Jul 06, 2013 6:22 pm

The dremel is really under powered, at least the old one I had so I needed something else. I was given this RotoZip a while back and it's been lying around in it's case untouched. Now I finally have a use for it!! It's slightly too large to fit in the brackets that come with the ShapeOko so I had to make my own. According to the label on it, it's the Model SCS 01, Type 2, 4 amp, single speed 30k rpm. BTW I cut this out of 1/2" cutting board.. I believe the board was 14"x20", and was $8 at Sams.

The i.d. is slightly bigger than the rotozip, but I put some rubber in it since the plastic on plastic was kinda slippy anyway.

Files are in the next post.

RotozipSCS01-Changeme.ai
- This is all of the shapes I used to create the mount, so you can adjust things to suit your needs. Created in Illustrator CS5.1

RotozipSCS01-Simplified-2up.svg
- This is the parts for two of the mounts, arranged to use minimal material. Use this on makercam to make your gcode.

RotozipMount3.nc
- This is the gcode file I used to cut my mounts, it's the 2up file cutting at .51" deep with a 1/8" bit. 40ipm, .1" per pass.

This Zip contains all three of these files.
