Do I need to bolt my x axis together or change to nema23 motors?
Right now the only upgrades I have are a dw660 and acme z.
I run a 611 on my Shapeoko 2 without any other upgrades. I get amazing feed rates with it.

Ok glad I ordered. $79 seems like a good deal. What mount do you use? I currently use mounts I milled from hdpe for my dw660 and they don't clamp as tight as I would like.

Soon to have inventables spindle mount and 1M X axis.

As noted below, chomdh found a post which indicates it includes collet wrenches and collets.

I.C. has mentioned working on a mount for the DWP-611 previously, but it hasn't shown up on the shop or the wiki --- there are a couple of designs / links there though: http://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php/Spindle_Options

Inventables does carry a mount which will fit the DWP-611 (and other routers w/ a ~69mm diameter such as the Bosch Colt): https://www.inventables.com/technologie ... ndle-mount

I milled mine from hdpe. I used a design posted on this forum that was originally for aluminum mounts. It has a bump which fits into the 611's vertical channel; this prevents it from twisting.

Sweet I was hoping for an anti twist feature on the mounts.
According to this post the dnp611 does come with collet and wrench.

That's the one I'm going to try.

I used the mounts from a different thread here that were in aluminum, mine are currently made of plywood. I've been running it since June on a mostly stock machine with good results. I do find that the machine has to be kept adjusted or there will be a lot of flex, especially during plunges. Keeping the feed rate conservative helps. I'm running it this way just to get through the Christmas season and then I will be building a larger version with a stiffer, and longer, X rail. Long term a spindle of this weight may result in loosening of nuts due to inertial forces racking and twisting the rails. The speed control is very good and the soft start makes it gentle on the machine.

Woodworker - I'd like to start with plywood mounts like you have made. I know I saw a picture of yours before. Do you have the link to that post and will you post the svg file of your modified slot nut design?
I'm receiving the dnp611 as a gift but want to have the mounts ready to go:

Here is the link with the original svg

I will see if I have my svg, I lost a drive earlier this year. I will post my original article that explained how I modified the original.

OK found the pic of the one you made woodworker:

If you have the svg that would be great, otherwise I should be able to add the notch for the nut.
