know the RPM of your router with your phone

There's a free app called Giri (iphone/android) which tells you the RPM of any motor around you, by listening to the motor running via your phone's microphone.
Works like a charm with the Dewalt DWP611.

If you don't have a smartphone, a friend of mine used Ableton. Let's say you want to set it to 22000rpm, divide by 60 (=366,66HZ), and then point your mouse over the fundamental harmonic in the program, and keep turning the speed up until you read 366Hz. Any program that can display the audio spectrum of a sound, or display the fundamental harmonic, will work.

That's useful. This is the link to the iPhone app version of it:

It's free to initially get, but has in-app purchasing. Does the rpm measurement work without having to buy anything?
