That's pretty cool, though I suspect the resolution is pretty low ;)

I wonder just how far one could push gluesticks with regard to finer resolution prints?

Yeah, but i bet trying this out would result in more people understanding the concept and therefore understand on how to either improve or create a more custom solution.

Bascially its a cheap easy way to get into 3D Printing :)

Yea hot glue is weak. Could easily be modified to print high resolution by drilling a small hole in a cone and fitting it on. But the heater might need to get hotter to melt ABS.

Still Automated hot glue gun is sexy and if the model needs to be rubbery, this is an awesome solution! We always used to call the FDM an expensive hot glue gun. These extruders are just that
