Interesting alternative filament options

came across this: http://www.stickfilament.com/
and thought it was pretty ingenious (though pricey) --- I'd love to see a way to design an object so that one could control the colour breaks (maybe print two parts? One could be a waste or scrap to use up excess colour at a colour transition?)
Looking forward to trying Laywood filament: http://www.geek.com/news/laywood-filame ... d-1517745/
Anything else I should be looking forward to?
