Dowel Holder

Post by dave_the_nerd » Sat Dec 06, 2014 7:09 am

Cutting slots (for legs) in some 2" dowel rods to make the vertical parts of a corner plant stand.

Needed a way to hold them down. (Picture shows a piece of scrap dowel - actual dowels were 3' long.)

Worked pretty well, actually. SVG is attached as well so you can modify to taste. Cut out of 1/2" HDPE. (I have "proper" mounts for the spindle cut out too, but haven't installed them yet. HDPE cuts great, though.)

The little notches are so you can line things up.

Presumably one would need to make the tabs on the ends of the top pieces longer or shorter depending on the spacing of your screw/nut doodads. (Assuming you have that modification done to your waste board.) If your nuts are spaced out much more than mine, making the top bracket thicker might also be helpful.
