GrblGru = Free 3D-Simulation for ShapeOko2
Re: GrblGru = Free 3D-Simulation for ShapeOko2
Hi, Scott216. It seems that the windows access rights are cause of all your (better my) problems. To be honest, I don't understand the rules. So I have to read up about this things. However, I hope you can use GrblGru now.
The upload in this community is limited to 512 KB. So I can't upload some helpfiles. Please copy the attached pdf-files into your appdatapath. Then you can access them from GrblGru help. This are only pdf from the GRBL Wiki on GitHub. I like to have this information always on board.
You find my unfortunately not updated documentation here https://www.dropbox.com/s/278a8a5uu92hg ... l.pdf?dl=0
Please copy also this file in your appdatapath.
I read your interesting report on the double sided PCB and I have seen that you have a lot experience with probing. In GrblGru exist a possibility to measure the position of a plane and transform data on it. (auto leveller)
If that is of interest to you, I will write how it is to use.
If you like to try the 'onbord universal gcode sender' please set the GRBL parameter $10=2 (status report mask)
Have fun with GrblGru

Re: GrblGru = Free 3D-Simulation for ShapeOko2
Thanks for the files. I actually don't have any experience with probing. I've got a touch plate I use to set the Z zero, which works very well. But I haven't done anything that probes the whole surface of the PCB. I'd like to learn more about doing that, but haven't gotten around to it.

Re: GrblGru = Free 3D-Simulation for ShapeOko2
I copied the 3 pdf files to C:\Program Files\grblgru\, but when I go to the help menu and select one of the items, nothing happens. It's not a big deal, I can alway open the files manually, but I wanted to let you know.GrblGru wrote:Hi, Scott216. It seems that the windows access rights are cause of all your (better my) problems. Re: GrblGru = Free 3D-Simulation for ShapeOko2
Thanks for your feedback.
Please copy the files direct into the data folder (c:\ProgramData\grblgru). Then it should work.
If you select the item Help-MyHelp GrblGru will show you the file C:\ProgramData\grblgru\MyHelp.pdf. You can use this file to get quick access to information you like. Simple create the file MyHelp.pdf (text and pictures) and save it in the data folder.
Another possibility to store help information is ToDo.txt. This file can be directly edited in the program.
If you have some ideas to improve the program, please give me a tip. Suggestions and also critique are welcome.

Setup.exe didn't create c:\ProgramData\ folder.GrblGru wrote:Thanks for your feedback.

If you start GrblGru you find your AppDataPath in the statusline. Normally it is C:\ProgramData\grblgru. I am very excited what is your folder.

GrblGru show that it's using C:\ProgramData\GrblGru\5, but that directory doesn't exist.

Oh, sorry . C:\ProgramData is a system folder and it could be that it is not visible on your system.
I always switch 'protected system folder' on in the system configuration.
If you write C:\programData' in the top line of your explorer you will see the folder.

Re: GrblGru = Free 3D-Simulation for ShapeOko2
The new GrblGru Version V1.20 now also provides STL-slicing.
The intersection line is used to create an dxf-file.
Also a lot of preparations for using the 4th. axis with TinyG have been made.
See the little chuck in the picture.
I have tried to explain all in the new updated manual.

B axis! Neat. Just curious, does it also support an A axis? (Not at the same time, but a choice of A or B.)
