Hi
Shapoko 3 assembled and working under Carbide Motion control - but
Does anyone have a drawing of the working area that the m/c spinle can get to? Im wanting to create some hold down holes for threaded inserts - got a drawing of the waste board and all the predrilled holes and I am wanting to design around those.
The router looks able to be run right off the bottom end of the Z azis vee guides - is there a way to set a limit for this?
I'm sure I will have many more questions and I will search the forum first but just as a starter if anyone could help please
regards
David

See https://www.shapeoko.com/wiki/index.php ... on_Test#XL --- it'd be great if folks w/ an SO3 or XXL would fill in the balance of the numbers.

Re: A few questions from a new starter
Thankyou for that Will - I have been experimenting and determined the operating limits now.
have also been generating gcode through Fusion 360 for some counterbored hold down holes - simulation worked fine - dry run with no tool in position worked fine didnt notice anything untoward
Eight 14mm dia counterbores all produced neatly and in correct position and majority of the first 10mm dia through hole completed then bang - something grabbed big hole in wasteboard and at least one of the xz vee wheels is broken
Does anyone know if these can be bought singly? - found the maintenance kit on the carbide3d site but really hoping I wont need all that many spares

Seeing that you are in the UK you could take a look here for v-wheels:
https://amberspyglass.co.uk/store/v-wheel.html
Unfortunately it looks like the store is closed until April 15th.
Otherwise inventables sells them
https://www.inventables.com/technologie ... -wheel-kit
Openbuilds also sells one that is not identical but interchangeable.
