Stepper Motor Wires
Stepper Motor Wires
How would you extend the wiring of the stepper motors? I was thinking small wire nuts ... any other suggestions ?
Re: Stepper Motor Wires
Could splice the two wires together (stepper's and the extension), and then wrap it in heat-shrink. Check out the section on this page about Butt Soldering.

Thanks!
"Butt/Barrel Crimp Connectors" seems cleaner.

Re: Stepper Motor Wires
I wouldn't use Crimp connectors or wire nuts anywhere wire is subjected to motion (they are fine where wires are static).AtomSoft wrote:Thanks!

Since the CNC introduces vibration, dust, and flex into the mix, I'd opt for heat-shrinked, soldered, Western Union Splices.

Thanks! I learned that method in high schoolsandro wrote: I wouldn't use Crimp connectors or wire nuts anywhere wire is subjected to motion (they are fine where wires are static).

Um... i guess that and some heat shrink will do
