Re: Prototype Calibration Pattern (with G-Code)
I suspect that we need a method to determine the working area of a machine and the optimal 0,0 coordinate w/o using switches --- or did I miss a page?

Here's a great point from: http://www.shapeoko.com/forum/viewtopic ... 9528#p9514

Re: Safety Height
Hello all,
I have begun the calibration of my Shapeoko using pens. Unfortunately i am still awaiting end stops for xy home and z touch off probe and so i am doing it all by eye at the moment. I noticed that until the rapid move down height was the same as the safety height the pen never made contact with the paper. I was allowing for probe distance but now i suspect that with out a touch off probe plugged in, pycam wont probe for one. Is this correct? Any advice for me on height settings?

Trouble with the pattern - it seems like my machine can't consistently start and end circles in the same place - any ideas as to what causes this?
I've circled a couple of spots that its happening, It doesn't seem to happen every time it draws a circle but it does seem to be consistent, ie: if I draw the pattern twice I get the errors in the same place

Usually those discontinuities are caused by the pen deflecting.
Looks to me as if you're good to start cutting.

Re: Prototype Calibration Pattern (with G-Code)
Hi, i have problem with squaring the machine. Tried to make this pattern and here what i found with the circles. Can someone tell me what exactly is the problem. What i have to look for for squaring right. I think that this is problem with the X and Y square but not sure.
