Shapeoko 3 Ads

The SO3 ads are a bit much, especially the popup.

No pop up blocker?

I've not seen an ad for the S3...

Yeah, I suggested that it should allow the user to interact and plug in their serial number and thence be exempted.

This forum was built as a community for hobby CNC enthusiasts first and foremost. It would be nice to continue to grow in that direction the same way the RepRap forum encompasses all types of 3D printers. The ads leave me with an impression that I shouldn't be here if I'm not planning to buy a SO3.

Just my 2 cents, maybe I'm the only one.

The ads bother me, so I come here less often. There were no adds for the SO2, why now. I read the forum on my iPad, there is no add blocker. Are we here to sell SO3 machines or to help each other get the most out of what ever SO machine they have?

I 100% agree with this. It feels more like a sales pitch here on the forum, and less like an open source community.

In my opinion, the forum should not have ads to block or script around or require different apps to view add free. There is a for sale section and if needed run the ads there. Now i understand that it is not a cost free forum, one person foots the bill for the hardware, software and admin of the forum. if he needs financial help with this, i think Patreon (SP) is a better idea and he can put that in his signature.
