I love your idea, Its a great way around having to adjust everything for different sized endmills. It's a very tidy solution
Do you lose any travel on the gantry? / Y-axis? It's hard to tell from the pictures if it sticks out past the z-plate

I loose a little on Y, but that doesn't bother me at all. The setup is easy to remove should I ever need the full Y size.
The setup can probably be made a tiny bit more compact on the left, but I'm not going to be bothered by it now, maybe later... who knows ...

hmm... actually I consider these prints very rough, just prints with a big 0.6 nozzle and 0.2 layer... normal quality on an Ultimaker is much better....

Finally managed to replace the printed makita adaptor for a decent aluminium one.
Got some 60mm diameter , 2 mm thick tubing here:

The 2 mm was to much, good not get it in, so I had a company take of 0.25mm on the lathe and now it's a perfect fit. Oh and I obviously had to modify the 60mm diameter , simply cut it open and bend it out a bit.
