Adding new bits

Postby Jeff » Sun Jun 10, 2018 11:33 am

This may seem like a dumb question now for someone that has already added new bits to his to data bank in Vcarve Pro.
I use the Shapeoko post processor that shows up when I save my tool paths in vcarve.
The question is this, Because I use Carbide motion to run the unit do I need to be putting the new tools in there as well?

If you are doing all of your design work, and g-code generation, in Vcarve Pro, then that is the only place you need to add your new bits. The tool generating the g-code will take the tool profile into account when creating the paths.

If Carbide motion is just loading the g-code and driving your CNC, then you do not need to add your new bits to it.
