GRBL and tool radius compensation.

Postby Baxter » Tue Jan 08, 2019 10:33 pm

I read that GRBL does not support the tool radius compensation commands G41/G42. But when running an Arduino loaded with GRBL V1.1, I got no error message when running G Code through it including G41. I can't actually find anywhere where the support is defined - does anyone know if GRBL supports tool radius compensation at V1.1 or not?

Grbl accepts turning tool radius compensation off, since that doesn't require any action.

See https://wiki.shapeoko.com/index.php/G-Code for a discussion of which codes are and are not supported.

Grbl doesn't complain when you send a G41, but it doesn't support tool compensation.
