before i go spend lot of money on a shapeoko 3 like ask to people that have them and use them whats the max. depth of cut & feed rate you can push the machine i solid pinewood? thinking 3 flt 1/4 end mill this would give a little idea if shapeoko 3 is right for me.

We have official feeds and speeds here: https://docs.carbide3d.com/support/#tooling-support

Some folks have done better, see: https://wiki.shapeoko.com/index.php/Materials#Pine

Most of the material I cut is 3/4" maple - which is harder than pine. I usually run a 1/4" end mill at 50IPM with a .250" DOC.

My machine is modified a little from the standard S3 so I have more height under the router. I was cutting 2" thick pink insulation the other day.
