Alignment issue

Alignment issue

Postby Eraaks » Wed Jan 23, 2019 3:34 am

Hey guys, new to cnc and just got my Shapeoko together. Trying to square my machine. When pulling my x axis all the way forward the left side hits flush but the right is off roughly 5 mm. I can pull it forward and try tightening the screws like the instructions say, but doesn’t seem to help. Then it’s opposite in the back. I have measured each corner and it’s maybe a 1/16 off. Looking for some help.

See images: I think I have attached them correctly.

Thanks. Will go through this here today or tomorrow. It does seem that the Y axis rails are square, seems the the x axis is off. Anywho, appreciate the response.

Post an update. Found the the x axis ends weren’t square. Didn’t have any washer shims but used aluminum foil, for now on both sids, to square everything up. This helped tremendously. Will eventually have the ends milled flat.

I am also having problems squaring the Shapeoko XL.

I used the link regarding squaring but having trouble figuring out what the Left Y Makerslide is and also the front extrusion. Does anyone know where those are?
